Notice of Hearing: The Promenade Reorganization to the City of Davis (LAF#23-05)

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 9:00 am, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Yolo Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) will hold a Public Hearing at the Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chamber, 625 Court Street, Room 206, Woodland, CA, to consider the following agenda item:

Project Title: The Promenade Reorganization to the City of Davis (LAFCo No. 23-05)

Project Description:
Davis Gateway Student Housing, LLC requests annexation of a 56.11-acre property (APN 036-810-008) plus the immediately abutting Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) property (9.19 acres) to the City of Davis. This action requires concurrent detachment from the East Davis Fire Protection District (no other districts would be affected). Per Government Code Section 56662, LAFCo intends to waive protest proceedings because the City and the landowner have given their written consent to the proposal, and UPRR is not expected to submit written opposition to the waiver of protest proceedings prior to the conclusion of the hearing.

Location:
This parcel is located along and southeast of the UPRR railroad track and UC Davis campus, southwest of Putah Creek, and north/northwest of I-80.

Environmental Review:
The potential environmental effects of the proposal have been reviewed by the City of Davis as Lead Agency, which certified an Environmental Impact Report and filed a Notice of Determination in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
